Injection moulding setter

Job Description:

Reports to shift supervisor/production manager, purpose is to ensure all products are manufactured in accordance with supplied formula or specification, through safe and effective operation of the production equipment.

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Monitoring production processes ensuring optimum running conditions.
  • Tooling change overs
  • Resolving machine related production/quality issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • Providing efficient end of shift handovers
  • Produce quality moulded product.
  • Barrel and screw cleaning
  • Assist with the start-up and shutdown of the extrusion lines
  • Monitor and maintain quality in accordance with specification.
  • Use fork truck and manual means to move raw material and finished products.
  • Perform tool trials.
  • Help to achieve optimum production.
  • Assist other moulding setters and operators.
  • Make every effort to keep moulded product scrap to a minimum.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workplace and good housekeeping within the department (5’s)
  • Throughout each shift measure and record quality checks and monitor product quality
  • Follow and understand operating procedures and setting sheets for moulded products.
  • Inform the Production Manager immediately of any breaches of the works rules.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

Job Description

We are looking to hire a skilled CNC programmer to operate and maintain our CNC equipment.

As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You will also be required to troubleshoot and problem solve any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

The Job

Reporting to the Site Director, the main objectives of the role are to:

 

  • Play a key role in the management of Health & Safety and housekeeping on site.
  • Deputise as the senior manager on site in the absence of the Site Director.
  • Maximise production performance through the management of process and people with a key focus on increased outputs, machine and resource utilisation and scrap reduction.
  • Work closely with the planning, maintenance, warehouse, and QA teams to identify areas of opportunity to continuously improve factory performance through technical enhancement and operational innovation and procedures.
  • Be responsible for the management, motivation and organisation of the production teams to maximise the performance and efficiency of the operation.
  • Identify training needs and develop the skills of the shop floor workforce including formal review and performance management.
  • Ensure tight control of costs and have input into capital projects to ensure maximum payback.
  • Liaise effectively with all departments ensuring good communication and leading by example with an open, constructive and progressive style.

 

The Person

The successful candidate will have operated at management level and will have a good understanding of plastic films, flexible packaging, print and conversion equipment. Alternatively, applications from those in related management roles looking to apply transferable skills in a production environment will be considered. Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be keen to take responsibility for the management, motivation and organisation of the production team. Candidates must be comfortable handling and improving data collection and be able to make considered decisions and communicate these effectively at all levels.
